Laurie Scott says increasing licensing fees makes life more difficult for Haliburton County residents

An increase to driver’s tests and licensing fees is not sitting well with Laurie Scott.

The Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock M.P.P. said the fee increases make life more expensive for rural Ontario.

The fee to take the G1 driving exam will increase to just under $24, while commercial licenses jump from $105 to $120.

Scott says fees have drastically increased since Kathleen Wynne became Premier.

The new fees come into effect on Canada Day.

Scott adds the policies made by the liberals are usually geared towards urban communities.

Scott also felt it was sneaky to increase the fees while Queen’s Park is sitting for the summer so no questions can be asked.
