Haliburton’s new skate park is one step closer to reality.
The municipality of Dysart et al is now seeking requests for proposal to build the concrete structure.
Recreation Program Coordinator Andrea Mueller says the fundraising campaign has been successful.
The current wooden structure skate on Maple Avenue next to the bridge is outdated according to members of the fundraising committee.
Mueller adds the park is for everyone, not just skateboarders.
The municipality hopes to start construction on the park in August which will be next to the arena.
