A school renaming ceremony will honour a long time community volunteer Thursday afternoon in Haliburton Village.
The Haliburton Highlands Alternative Education and Training Centre will be renamed the Leonard Salvatori Alternative Education Centre.
The 87 year old Salvatori was a school board trustee for 35 years, and also spent over four decades as a scouts leader and minor hockey representative.
Trillium Lakelands District School Board Trustee Gary Brohman says Salvatori was humbled to learn a school will bear his name.

Brohman adds Salvatori is deserving of the honour.
The ceremony will be Thursday at 4:00 p.m. outside the Haliburton Highlands A.E.T.C.
