Abbey Gardens will have a cancer retreat centre in the future.
Dysart council approved an amendment that will allow the Hewitt House in the gardens to be turned into a lodge.
Gardens Operations Director Heather Reid says council’s decision will allow them to renovate the house.
The retreat will be run by a not for profit group called the Abbey Retreat Centre.
There is no word on renovations would start.
