Minden Hills wants to throw a party to thank everyone who helped during the May flood.

Council discussed the idea in great length during a recent council meeting.

Reeve Brent Devolin says the challenge will be reaching out to everyone who lent a hand.

No date has been set for a celebration but late August was being mentioned as a possibility.

High water levels in the Gull River forced Minden to declare a state of emergency April 30.

Devolin adds a party is the ultimate way to say thank you.

Devolin added this celebration will be for anyone who helped out, or was affected by the flood.
