Provincial funding will help H.H.H.S. upgrade three areas of health services in Haliburton County

The hospitals in Minden and Haliburton will be getting new nurse call-ball systems.

Haliburton Highlands Health Services President and C.E.O. Carolyn Plummer says it is nearly impossible to find parts for the current system when repairs are needed.

Plummer says the call-bell system will modernize their operations.

H.H.H.S. is able to upgrade the call-bell system thanks to a grant from Ontario’s Ministry of Health of $293,500.

The money comes from the province’s Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund.

Plummer says access at the community support services office in Haliburton will be improved as well.

The remainder of the funds will be spent on roof repairs at the Haliburton hospital.
