Haliburton Highlands O.P.P. receiving many complaints of scammers posing as the C.R.A.

The O.P.P. is reminding people to be aware of fraudsters posing as the Canada Revenue Agency.

The Haliburton Highlands detachment has received many complaints from residents that they are getting calls, e-mails and texts from C.R.A. scammers.

Community Safety Officer Dianna Dauphinee says no one in the county has fallen victim to a scam this year.

Dauphinee says if you get a call from someone claiming to be with the C.R.A. you should ask yourself a few questions.

Dauphinee adds scammers will sometimes try and ask where then can send an apparent tax refund.

Dauphinee says to contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre if you suspect someone is targetting you.

She adds to call the O.P.P. if you are a victim to a C.R.A. scam.
