Thanks to Haliburton, there are 79 new pints of blood for Canadian Blood Services.

Blood Services had a donor clinic Monday at the Haliburton Legion.

Territory Manager Andra Stancu says the goal was surpassed.

Stancu also mentioned that even though blood services has a stable amount right now, the need is always there.

According to the Blood Services website, someone with leukemia can require as many as 50 donors a week to survive.

Stancu also mentioned O negative is the blood type they need to most of at this time.

The next blood donor clinic at the Haliburton Legion will be September 25.
