Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton Housing Corporation re-submitting affordable housing proposal next week

The Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton Housing Corporation is submitting a new proposal for affordable housing in the county.

K.L.H. was asked by Dysart’s Committee of Adjustment last month for a revised plan which would see changes to their parking layout..

K.L.H. C.E.O Hope Lee says she will present the new proposal at next week’s committee meeting in Haliburton.

The plan is to add 12 new townhome style units by Whispering Pines off County Road 21.

Whispering Pines is a 24-unit affordable housing apartment building.

Lee says the project is budgeted at just under $2.8 million and says anymore changes to the proposal would put a strain on the housing corporation’s budget.

Lee also mentions their statistics show that one parking spot per unit is sufficient for those who need affordable housing.

Dysart’s Committee of Adjustment meets on August 9th in Dysart council chambers.
