Students need to get vaccinated or face possible school suspensions.
Ontario’s Immunization of School Pupils Act says health units must ensure students are vaccinated against, rubella, polio, measles, mumps, chickenpox, tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough, and meningococcal disease.
If students are not vaccinated against those diseases, the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health unit can suspend them until they can prove their records are up-to-date,
Exceptions are available for medial issues and religious beliefs.

The health unit is also urging parents to update their children’s immunization records with the health unit.
