Laurie Scott plans to question the government on proposed minimum wage hike when the legislature resumes

Laurie Scott will be asking questions of the government regarding the proposed minimum wage increase.

The Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes, Brock M.P.P. will be joining her colleagues in Queen’s Park on September 11th.

Scott says she supports increasing the minimum wage, but going from $11.40 an hour to #15 dollars an hour by 2019 is too much for small businesses to digest.

Scott mentions a study detailing the impact a 32 per cent wage hike in under 17 months will have on the county.

She adds she realizes life in Ontario is getting more expensive.

Scott acknowledges the minimum wage needs to be higher, especially with rising energy costs.
