Jamie Schmale will have an expanded role in Canada’s conservative party.
The Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes, Brock M.P. was appointed as Deputy Minister of Natural Resources in Party Leader Andrew Sheer’s Shadow Cabinet.
With the appointment, Schmale will move from the Standing Committee of Procedure and House Affairs to the Natural Resources Committee.
Schmale says he hears regularly from residents in the riding about their concerns on issues involving the declining walleye population, as well as anything involving the Trent-Severn Waterway.
This is Schmale’s first term as M.P. for the riding.
