M.P. Jamie Schmale says clean distribution of energy, softwood lumber dispute, should be top priorities for Canada

Jamie Schmale is looking forward to his new position in the Progressive Conservative party.

Party Leader Andrew Scheer appointed the Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes, Brock M.P. to the PC’s Shadow Cabinet as Deputy Minister of Natural Resources.

Schmale says he will be advocating for the safe and environmentally safe distribution of Canada’s energy.

Schmale adds that Transcanada’s decision to put its application for the Energy East pipeline on hold could impact jobs in the province and country.

He also mentions the ministry is involved in the softwood lumber dispute with the United States over tariffs imposed by America.

Schmale says he will fight for exporters of Canadian lumber, but this dispute has been going on for many years.

Schmale and his colleagues are back in Parliament on September 18th.
