Sirch accepting apple donations

Sirch Community Services in Haliburton is gathering apples for its Apple Sauce Project.

The project, in its fourth year, uses apples from trees that don’t get picked and turns them into apple sauce.

The sauce is then given to seniors and families that are in need through clients of the Meals on Wheels program, as well as Sirch’s Frozen Meals program.

If you have any apples to donate, you can drop them off at the Sirch Central on Victoria Street in the Village of Haliburton.

You can donate the apples Thursday and Friday between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. or on Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

If you want to volunteer to pick apples, call Ida at 705-457-2941, extension 2926.

If you want to help process the apples, call Diane at 705-457-1742, extension 27.
