The Township of Minden Hills is a beautiful community.

For the second year, Minden received the top score of five blooms for Communities in Bloom.

In July and August, judges from Communities in Bloom were in town to evaluate the area.

Judges evaluated on criteria such as tidiness, environmental action, heritage conservation, as well as landscape and floral displays.

Community Service Director Mark Coleman says this is Minden’s second year participating in the initiative, and second year it achieved a five-bloom rating.

Coleman adds the rating is a result of great efforts between the township, residents and businesses.

Communities in Bloom is a not-for-profit organization that recognizes civic bride and beautification through community involvement.
