Haliburton Warden concerned with effect minimum wage increase will have in the county

Brent Devolin says the province’s 32 per cent increase to the minimum wage may cause problems.

The Haliburton County Warden was talking about Ontario’s plan to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour by January 1st, 2019.

Devolin is worried about how this will affect young people in Haliburton.

Devolin also says businesses will have to adjust.

The minimum wage will go from $11.40 an hour to $14 on January 1st of 2018.
