Construction on Junction Skate Park in Haliburton Village is slated to start this week.

That’s according to Dysart et al Recreation Program Coordinator Andrea Mueller.

Even though the shovel is going in the ground, Mueller says the Skate Park Fundraising Committee still needs to raise money.

She says the committee is looking to raise an additional $40,000.

Mueller adds the grand opening of Junction Skate Park will be next year.

The new concrete skate park is by the ball diamond and will replace the wooden structure off Maple Avenue.

The committee has raised around $170,000 and Mueller says no tax dollars have been spent on the project.
