County looking for more IT support staff

Haliburton County is searching for more IT support. County council approved hiring a new IT clerk to help with increasing tech demands.

Council heard from CEO of the Haliburton County Public Library, Bessie Sullivan at an April meeting who said something needed to be done if computers were going to continue being a part of each library branch. Sullivan said the libraries in the county represent a quarter of the computers support by IT.

Minden Hills Deputy Reeve Cheryl Murdoch expressed her opinion, saying computers in libraries are the way of the future and it is something the county needs to get behind.

At the May 28 meeting, council approved hiring an IT technician.

Applications can be found on the Haliburton County website and are due June 27.
