Jamie Schmale is recognizing community service in Haliburton County.
The Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes, Brock M.P. was at the Haliburton Legion last week recognizing several individuals and a group for making our region what it is today.
Schmale handed out community service awards in honour of Canada’s 150th birthday.
Schmale says volunteers are the backbone of a community.

Schmale also says when there is a need in the county, people step up to the plate.
