Bell Canada says it is not sure when phone and internet service will be restored.
In an e-mail to the My Haliburton Now newsroom, a Bell spokesperson said a severed cable was the result of a company doing some digging at the corner of Highland Street and Lake Avenue yesterday.
The spokesperson says Bell is on site working to restore service but couldn’t give an estimate on when that would be.
Landlines are down between Haliburton Village as far as Ingoldsby.
If you are shopping in the area, keep some cash on hand because some businesses are without debit and credit card service.
