With bow hunting season now underway in Haliburton County, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry wants you to be safe.

Bancroft District Conservation Officer Shane Brownlee says it’s important for bow hunters to know what they can wear during the archery season.

Brownlee also remind everyone they need written or verbal permission from a landowner before hunting on private property, or else it’s illegal.

Brownlee says private property is usually clearly defined with signs or fences. He also reminds anyone hunting in a tree-stand to put their harness on to stay safe.

Bow hunting season runs until December 15th in the North Hastings area.
