Murray Fearrey’s title doesn’t matter to him.
That’s the message the Dysart et al Reeve gave in council yesterday regarding a potential title change from Reeve to Mayor.
Fearrey says he is fine with whatever his title is.
The Ontario Municipal Act only recognizes a Head of Council as does not acknowledge a difference between a reeve and a mayor.
Dysart is the latest municipality in the county to discuss the change.
Algonquin Highlands changed Carol Moffatt’s title to mayor in July, which Highlands East and Minden Hills are both looking into it.
