Haliburton County will be buying eight new defibrillators.
It will cost the county a total of $205,235.75.
Chief of Paramedic Services Tim Waite says defibrillators usually last anywhere from five-to-seven years.
Waite says the current equipment they use was purchased in 2010.
There will be no tax implications as the defibrillators were included in the 2017 budget.
