You can help a veteran in the county by putting on a poppy this November.
The annual poppy sale campaign is kicking off in Haliburton this week and you’ll be able to find the poppy box at retailers across the county. The funds collected by the local legions go back into veteran-focused programs like Leave the Streets Behind, which helps homeless war vets get back on their feet.
Remembrance Day will fall on a Saturday this year and there will be ceremonies held in all of the Haliburton communities.
