Operation Corridor to reduce collisions as a result of large commercial vehicles

OPP reports close to 70 deaths in 2013 were a result of collisions with large commercial vehicles. According to Commander of the OPP Highways Safety Division, Chief Superintendent Don Bell, people are killed or injured every year due to tires or equipment coming off transport trucks and colliding with other vehicles.

OPP have partnered with the Ministry of Transportation to begin an annual Operation Corridor initiative. The 24-hour highway safety initiative will focus on raising awareness about safe operation and maintenance of transport trucks and other large commercial vehicles.
