Two Haliburton County paramedics could be recognized next year for elite service.

Chief of Paramedic Services, Tim Waite told the county’s Emergency Services Committee that two medics are eligible for the Exemplary Service Medal in 2018.

Waite says this is one of the most prestigious awards an Ontario based paramedic can receive.

In order to be considered for the medal, Waite says a paramedic must have at least 20-years of experience, among other criteria.

The cost to the county would be $1,300 if the two medics end up winning the medal to attend the gala.

Three Haliburton County paramedics won the medal last month.
