The Municipality of Highlands East has made the decision to have their facilities tested for toxins. After a hydraulic spill on highway 118 last month, a resident raised concerns about how it was handled.
CAO Sharon Stoughton-Craig said problems arise with the regulations because they are very vague. Cambium Consulting and Engineering will be going to each department facility on Thursday June 18 to do an assessment of all municipal buildings.
