A partnership with the Haliburton ATV Association (HATVA) will mean improved trails between Haliburton Village and Wilberforce.

Highlands East councilor Joan Barton says the group is assessing the trails and will bring a report back to the trails committee. She says the ultimate goal is to make the skills level of some of the trails easier so more people can use it.

Barton says after the spring and mid-summer trail scaling, the report should be ready in the fall. If assessments show a significant amount of work needs to be done, the trails committee, in their partnership with with HATVA, will apply for funding. She says if all goes well, it should be ready for the season next year.
