Winter may be approaching but that won’t stop Highlands East from planning for Canada Day.
The municipality will be contributing $5,000 towards its 2018 celebrations, and applying for a grant from the federal Heritage Ministry.
Mayor Dave Burton says council wants to do something similar to this year’s celebrations.
Burton adds Highlands East had less than a week to get the grant request in, and says people can expect another fireworks show in Gooderham.
There is no word on how much money the municipality is applying for.
