Minden Hills getting new playground

Rotary Park in Minden Hills could get a new playground before the end of the year.

The township decided earlier this year to replace the original playground after it was damaged during May’s flood.

Minden’s Committee of the Whole chose a design that will cost over $50,000 with the money expected to come from its parks reserves.

Mayor Brent Devolin says the township is taking steps to minimize effects of potential future floods on the structure.

Rotary Park is close to the shore of the Gull River.

Devolin adds the new playground will be more accessible.

Council could rubber stamp the project at its November 30th meeting.

If weather permits, the township expects the new playground to be built by December 22nd.
