New Chamber of Commerce Award aims to recognize young people in the county

The Haliburton Highlands Chamber of Commerce is looking to honour young people in the county.

The chamber will be giving out its first ever Young Professional Award at the 2018 Business and Community Achievement Awards Gala.

Manager Autumn Wilson says only people under 35-years-old can be nominated, and they must live in the county.

Wilson also says this award is not just for entrepreneurs.

According to Statistics Canada, the average age of the county’s population is just over 52-years-old.

Wilson says this award is a great opportunity to recognize how vital young people are to the business success of the region.

The gala will be in March.
