The food bank in Wilberforce has extra money and supplies thanks to the community.
The Haliburton Highlands O.P.P. had its annual –Fill-a-Cruiser campaign at the local Foodland grocery store.
In the three hours there, officers were able to collect enough food to fill 166 bags of food and $468.15 in cash.
The Wilberforce Food Bank can use the help because according to 2016 statistics from the Ministry of Education, over 37 per cent of students living in Wilberforce are in low-income households.
The provincial average is just over 19 per cent.
