Haliburton to host first ever ribfest in August at Head Lake Park

Another first time event will be in Head Lake Park next summer.

A not-for-profit company that puts on rib festivals across Ontario wants to bring one to Haliburton.

The B.W.G. Group made a presentation to Dysart et al council about a perspective festival this week, and Mayor Murray Fearrey loves the idea.

B.W.G. President Rick Brooks told council all profits from their events are put back into the community where it hosts a festival.

Brooks specifically mentioned Junction Skate Park, a concrete skateboard structure, as a potential recipient of funds from the event.

Dysart Recreation and Program Coordinator Andrea Mueller says she is thrilled to hear that.

Haliburton’s first annual Ribfest is set for the weekend of August 24th.

At the same council meeting, it was announced that the first ever craft beer festival would be at Head Lake Park in July.
