Minden Hills plans to purchase road patrol software this year

Minden Hills will be keeping better track of its vehicles this year.

The township will be purchasing road patrol software to track it’s vehicles for a total cost of $35,000 for the first year.

The software has the capability to allow users to track the exact location of vehicles as well as keep logs of where they have been.

Mayor Brent Devolin says there is a safety benefit associated with the software.

Devolin also says keeping logs of where township vehicles have been could be useful if there are future lawsuits against Minden.

Council originally included the software purchase in the 2017 budget but decided at its most recent meeting to defer it to this year.
