Arctic air chill expected to end by Sunday in Haliburton

The frigid cold will be behind us next week.

That’s according to Environment Canada, which is calling more seasonal temperatures starting on Monday.

Daytime highs are expected to be no lower than minus nine while overnight lows are not expected to dip below minus 16 for the week.

Environment Canada says the average daytime high in January for the county is minus five, while the average overnight low is typically around minus 15.

Thanks to a blast of arctic air, temperatures in the county were below minus 40 at times with the wind chill.
