Libraries in the area are always evolving.

That’s according to Haliburton County Library C.E.O. Bessie Sullivan, who says libraries are not only a place for borrowing books like it was 20 years ago.

Sullivan was giving Haliburton County council an update on library services at the first meeting of 2018 this week.

She also says that with the popularity of e-reading devices, librarians are also technology teachers.

The public library has eight branches at different spots in the county.
