Two-weekend pond hockey tournament could bring as many as 700- 1,000 players to Haliburton

Head Lake Park will be the home of the Canadian Pond Hockey Championships later this month.

It’s a two-weekend event starting on January 26^th.

Tournament Organizer John Teljeur says well over 100 teams of six have registered, which will mean lots of tourists in Haliburton.

Money from the event will go back into future recreation programming for Dysart et al.

Teljeur says he is still on the lookout for volunteers.

Teljeur adds based on past tournaments, he is expecting anywhere between 700 – 1,000 players for the two weekends.
