Environment Canada says its difficult to say how much climate change affects extreme weather
An Environment Canada Meteorologist says it’s hard to say if climate change affects specific weather patterns.
Geoff Coulson was in the Village of Haliburton this week as a guest of Environment Haliburton at its monthly meeting.
Coulson says determining how much of extreme weather, such as massive blizzards and tornadoes, is due to climate change is still a young science.
Coulson adds more extreme weather is shifting north towards Haliburton County.
Coulson adds it’s hard to say if the recent cold snap in the county, or hail storms in other regions can be attributed to climate change.
