Haliburton County is giving the gift of life to as many as 237 people.
Canadian Blood Services held its first clinic of the year on Monday at the Haliburton Legion and collected 79 pints of blood.
Blood services had a target of 72 pints.
Blood Services Territory Manager Andra Stancu says it’s impressive because clinics usually get a lower turnout in the winter months.

Stancu also says people who are fighting cancer need multiple transfusions a week to survive.
Stancu says the next donor clinic at the legion will be on March 19th.
