Not a great weekend for sledding in the county

This is not a good weekend for snowmobiling in the county.

That’s according to the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs, which says that all trails are unavailable in Haliburton.

The Haliburton County Snowmobile Association is responsible for the grooming and maintenance of approximately 370 kilometers of trails in the county.

Daytime highs are expected to be above the freezing point this weekend, and H.C.S.A. Director John Enright said last week that the trails are already pretty fragile.

The Haliburton Highlands O.P.P. also reminds sledders that riding impaired carries the same penalties as drunk driving.
