Local snowmobile club still hopeful for good sledding season

Paudash Trailblazers Snowmobile Club is back to square one when it comes to getting trails open.

That’s according to Operations Manager Robert Knapton, who says recent mild weather combined with rain has caused all of the club’s trails to be closed.

Knapton says it would take quite a bit of snow before trails can reopen.

Even with the snowfall, Knapton says he won’t venture a guess on how long it will take to get trails reopen. He says trails will have to be checked again, which could take some time.

However, Knapton also recognizes the importance of snowmobiling for the local economy. He’s hopeful that a good sledding season could still be on the way.
