Liz Danielsen was sworn in as Deputy Warden at yesterday’s meeting. This is the first time the county has appointed a deputy. Danielsen’s role will be to act as warden if Partridge is unable to lead a meeting, as well as make community and ceremonial appearances when the warden is unable to. Council decided to add a deputy last year because the warden position is very time consuming and the county decided a fill-in would be needed. County council is made up of the four mayors and deputy mayors of Haliburton’s for townships and municipalities. Danielsen is the Deputy Mayor of Algonquin Highlands and said earlier this month she believes in open communication, and wants to support Partridge as best she can.
