Health Services Foundation says Hike for Hospice coming back in May

A spring hike for palliative and long-term care is coming back to Haliburton.

The Haliburton Highlands Health Services Foundation announced it will be hosting a Hike for Hospice.

It is the first time the hike will be done in the county since 2014.

Foundation Executive Director Lisa Tompkins says having the hike services two purposes.

The average age of Haliburton County’s population is around 55-years-old.

Health Services Vice-President of Community Programs Stephanie MacLaren says there is a big demand in our area for hospice care.

The hike is set for May 6th and Tompkins adds more details on the event will be released as they become available.

Hike for Hospice is a national fundraiser held by communities all over Canada.
