Health Services gets over $819,000 from the province

Haliburton Highlands Health Services is getting financial help from the province.

Health services learned at last week’s board meeting about two grants received from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care totalling $819,536.

President and C.E.O. Carolyn Plummer says approximately $526,000 of that is going towards improving energy efficiency at the hospitals in Haliburton and Minden Hills.

Plummer adds the remainder of the money will go towards roof repairs and parking lot paving.

The call-bell system is also being upgraded and should be completed by the end of March according to Plummer.
