21-year-old man charged with stunt driving in Minden Hills

A 21-year-old man is in trouble after driving nearly double the speed limit in Minden Hills.

The driver was clocked by the Haliburton Highlands O.P.P. on County Road at 151 kilometres an hour on Friday afternoon.

The speed limit on the road is 80 kilometres.

He was charged with stunt driving, which is when a motorist is caught speeding at 50 kilometres or more over the posted limit,

His car was impounded for seven days and his licence was suspended as well.

Stunt driving fines range between $2,000 and $10,000 and can also result in a driver’s licence suspension for as long as two years.
