If Bob Lake residents want a boat launch, it will cost more than expected.
According to a staff report from the Township of Minden Hills, the cost to build a launch will be $182,680.
The Bob Lake Association quoted the cost at approximately $30,000 at a Minden council meeting in November.
Mayor Brent Devolin says the township’s analysis took more factors into consideration.
Property owners used a boat launch on the south side of the lake but it is on private property and was blocked last year.
Property owners told council at different times in 2017 that not having a launch has a negative effect on property values.
The proposed boat launch would be on Claude Brown Road.
