Health Unit wants to help smokers in the county beat the habit

The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit wants to help you kick the habit.

The Smoking Treatment for Ontario Patients program starts on Tuesday in the Village of Haliburton.

The S.T.O.P. program gives participants five weeks of nicotine patches for free.

The health unit says many studies have shown that using patches to quit smoking will double your chances of success.
