O.M.A.F.R.A. funding gives townships and municipalities extra money to work with

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is giving money to municipalities all over Ontario.

The money comes from the Main Street Funding program, which is meant to help municipalities invest in their downtown cores.

Algonquin Highlands received $38,035 and Mayor Carol Moffatt says the money doesn’t have to be spent in a specific area.

Dysart et al will get $41,363, Minden Hills will get a cheque for $41,200 and $38,875 is going to Highlands East.

According to the ministry, the size of the grant is determined by the population according to the 2016 census.
