Bob Lake Association disagrees with Minden Hills’ cost analysis for public boat launch

A lake association in Minden Hills disagrees with the township’s cost estimate for a public boat launch.

Last month, township staff did a cost analysis of putting a public boat launch for Bob Lake on Claude Brown Road.

Minden’s report from January quotes the cost at $185,000, while the Bob Lake Association’s figure is at $35,000.

The township’s analysis has a cost of $110,000 to expropriate private land for a turnaround, while Bob Lake’s study says it’s not necessary.

Mayor Brent Devolin says the conversation will continue with the association.

Bob Lake residents had been using a boat launch they assumed was public but it is on private property and the owner blocked it off last year.
