You won’t need a licence to try your hand at fishing in the county during the Family Day weekend.

That’s because one of two annual ‘Ontario Family Fishing Day Events’ is coming up between Saturday and Monday. The province says that means those between 18 and 64 years old won’t need a licence to cast their lines.

However, the province is reminding you that all other fishing laws, fees, and limits still apply. These rules are in place to keep fish populations healthy into the future.
